Brothers & Sisters,
We are asking for your help. It is imperative that we recruit citizens of Salem to attend neighborhood association meetings and speak in support of fire protection/public safety.
We are requesting that each member:
1. Click the link below to see which of the 19 neighborhood associations you live in.
http://www.cityofsalem.net/Departments/CommunityDevelopment/NeighborhoodEnhancementDivision/neighbor/Pages/map.aspx
2. Identify when your Neighborhood Association meets (some are monthly, bi-weekly, etc).
3. Attend as a member of your Neighborhood and advocate for fire protection.
4. Talk with your neighbors and encourage them to attend and voice their support for fire protection/public safety.
5. Talk with your family/friends that live in the city (but possibly in a different neighborhood) and encourage them to attend their own neighborhood meetings
With 19 Neighborhood Associations, it is easy to see how all of us can make a difference by following the above. This isn’t just about Fire Station #11, but the Fire Department as a whole and how things will proceed not only for the next budget (12/13), but next several city budgets. Attending these types of meetings is always important, but especially over the next 6 months – 2 years. Also, if you hear something you think might be pertinent please pass on to an eboard member.
If you have any questions please contact any Eboard member.
Thank you
