Brothers and Sisters, as you know, yesterday we held a press conference regarding the closure of station #11. We are committed to fighting any and all reductions to our line fire fighters. This is just the beginning of what we anticipate to be a long process. We will need your help to be successful in this endeavor. Over the coming weeks you will be contacted to assist in various activities for our cause, please MAKE time to help. We cannot succeed with just e-board or the usual 10% who show up for other functions; we need commitment from all members!

Remember – this is not about fire fighter jobs. This is about public safety and fire fighter safety.

Contact your friends and family members, engage them in our cause and encourage them to participate through the various multi-media venues.
Over the next several weeks your e-board and the various members assisting in the campaign are going to need time away from work, this is an expense not budgeted for. We have cancelled all conferences, the banquet and committee meetings in an effort to shore up our coffers. I ask all members willing to cover partial shifts to do so as union donated trade rather than union time dollars. We are in this together; your willingness to help will be of great benefit; saving us needed dollars for the campaign and getting the members working on the problem together consistently.
I would like to thank all who made it to the media event yesterday, your attendance was invaluable! If we missed your name, blame it on Scott!
